What is an IBAN?

The **International Bank Account Number (IBAN)** is an internationally agreed system of identifying bank accounts across national borders.

How Verification Works:
  • Strips spaces and non-alphanumeric chars.
  • Verifies prefix country code.
  • Validates character length matches country rules (e.g. 26 characters for Turkey).
  • Moves first 4 letters/digits to the end, maps characters to digits, and computes MOD-97.
